From November 4th to 8th, the New Frontiers in Food (NF4) consortium visited Brazil as part of a direct mission. This visit allowed participating European SMEs to gain valuable experience in the Brazilian marketplace and to better understand the innovation ecosystem present in the country.
The NF4 delegation had the pleasure of being hosted by FoodTech Hub Brazil in Sao Paulo, who provided valuable assistance in the organization of the mission. FoodTech Hub Brazil is an association which links the various national players in the Brazilian food ecosystem, from government and innovation (universities, technological centers), to industry associations and business (SMEs). Attending the meeting in Sao Paulo with the NF4 consortium were industry representatives Abampi and ABIAM, and the Instituto de Tecnología de Alimentos (ITAL).
The visits and meetings arranged by FoodTech Hub for the NF4 delegation through-out their stay in Brazil allowed consortium members to gain valuable insights into the innovative ecosystem present in the food sector across the country, as well as a strong understanding of the commercial market of Brazil.
To formalize the collaboration between NF4 and FoodTech Hub Brazil, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on November 4th, establishing an agreement to develop a partnership strategy and build deeper relationships between European and Brazilian SMEs.
